Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels

I’m really loving masks at the moment – be it face, nail, hand, feet or eye masks (so there will be a lot of reviews coming up!) A particular favourite of mine has to be an eye mask, cooling, refreshing and a sure-fire way to plump up any fine lines.

The Skyn Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels are designed to increase hydration, firm and brighten the eye area – ideal if you are burning the midnight oil!

The Skyn range originated from Iceland and is designed to be used in times of stress to fortify the skin, hydrate, nourish and bring back a youthful glow.

The gels are easy to use as the eye masks are already separated, all you need to do is remove the backing paper and the sticky eye masks can be placed under the eye area gel side down. Leave for at least 10 minutes and remove, follow with eye cream.

I found the gels to be really sticky and while this made it easier to apply to the eye area (they stayed in place) I was expecting the mask to be more moisturising and cooling as I only noticed a small cooling effect (which only lasted a few minutes.) After leaving the gels in place for 10 minutes I removed them and noticed an immediate firming effect, after applying eye cream my eye area felt hydrated, firm and soothed.

Skyn Iceland Hydro cool firming eye gels are available in packs of 4 and 8; a pack of 8 is £25 from feelunique.com.

Verdict

The idea of these eye masks is really intriguing and whilst they were cooling to some extent I was expecting the masks to have a more intense cooling effect. The overall effect was a smoother firmer and less puffy eye-area, although I definitely recommend an eye cream afterwards as the gels need more moisture. At £3.15 per mask this is a treat that can be used any time for special occasions or as part of your regular beauty routine.  Let me know what you think of the Skyn range.
