I want to start by saying that I have been a fan of Glossier since I first discovered it via Into the Gloss site. I think the marketing (or seemingly lack of) is mostly spot on and it blends the needs of the consumer with the company which enables them to develop products that do what they say.
The Packaging
Two words: Millennium Pink. It is super cute, well thought out and minimalist. Everything comes in pink bubble-wrap ziplock bags, which you can reuse. Glossier packaging is instantly recognisable, you can spot it anywhere!
The Products
Cloud Paint
This is one product that I was not sure of, being very pale I find most blushers to be too dark and make me look like a clown! Not with Cloud Paint it really is goof-proof. It has a buildable, cream-gel like texture and blends easily, my shade ‘puff’ is also the perfect pink shade for my skin tone.
The only thing that could make Cloud Paint better is to have it in a stick for easier mess-free application! (If Cloud Paint was in a haloscope packaging this would be amazing!)
Milky Jelly Cleanser
This is a cult product and is one that I go back to time and time again. It does what it says – it has a jelly consistency that transforms into milk with water. It has a gentle floral fragrance and you can use it around the eye area.
I normally use this on dry skin, massage on and rinse off. It removed nearly all of my makeup apart from the eye area (I always need a separate remover as you may know, I love my eyeliner and a fuller mascara look.) Milky Jelly Cleanser is a good ‘first cleanse’ to remove makeup or if you chose not to wear makeup or only a little this would be a good general cleanser, you can also use it on wet skin.
Haloscope
Highlighting, contouring & strobing are buzz words right now and whether or not you want a Kim K contoured look or something more subtle you cannot go wrong with haloscope. Easy to apply to any areas you want to highlight this gives a subtle glow with no glitter or particles of any kind, so much so, that you can *almost* pretend it’s natural!
Boy Brow
(Yet another) cult product – Boy Brow is just one of those products that you have to try you and will not be disappointed. Whether you have brows to rival Cara or have more of a 90s vibe brows are in and Boy Brow gives a natural yet noticeable difference.
If I want to make an effort I need to do my brows, it is amazing the effect that simply taming your brows can have on the overall ‘look’ and shape of your face. There are many brow products out there so what makes brow boy so popular?
Simply the formula – it is long lasting, the range of shades that are available mean that you can find the right one for you. It is also very simple to use like all Glossier products, one swipe and your brows look fuller and are kept in place, no scouse brow in site!
The Solution
The hype for this was unreal. Lots of social media buzz, especially Instagram stories and promo including high profile bloggers and influencers. I have to admit that I was sucked in and instead of doing my usual research I made an impulse buy (shocking I know!)
The Solution promises to be what acne prone skins need to achieve a flawless, blemish-free complexion and who does not want that!? Like many others since the launch this has not been the case for me.
After trying the Solution for about 2 weeks I did not notice any difference, in fact I feel that it made my skin worse. I have posted some before and during The Solution use on my Instagram, my skin became sensitive and I started to get dry patches and as someone who I feel has very resilient skin this was concerning. As an avid lover of a good acid I was surprised to discover that Glossier has not declared what percentage of acid is in their formula (to my knowledge this is still the case.) Ultimately I wouldn’t recommend this as there are acids that suited my skin soo much better and would I never recommend anything that I didn’t love. The skincare Queen Caroline Hirons has explained the Solution situation better than I ever could so check out her blog post for Solution.
Stretch Concealer
It’s concealer but not as you know it. Stretch concealer has a very balmy consistency similar to Becca Under Eye Brightening Concealer, in fact I usually combine the two around the eye area. Stretch concealer does what it says, it is very sheer in consistency and does not crease around the eyes and is very moisturising.
Stretch concealer can be used to cover blemishes and anywhere else that needs a little extra TLC and I use the shade ‘light’ which is perfect for even the palest of complexions. As you can see from the above picture Stretch is on the left and has a slightly warmer tone compared to the Becca Under Eye Brightening Concealer which is has a cooler tone.
Power-packed doesn’t begin to cover it, Glossier gives you glowy skin that celebrates imperfections. You can find Glossier using this link and I am sure that you will love the range as much as I do.
Thank you for reading,
